# Relisting Auctions

Relisting creates a new auction for a product that has already been auctioned. Use this when:

* The item **did not sell** (no bids, or the reserve price was not met).
* The winner **did not pay** and you have cancelled the winner.
* You have **additional inventory** of the same product.

***

## Before You Relist

Cancel any existing unpaid or scheduled auction listings for the product first. Only one live auction per product is allowed at a time.

## Relisting an Individual Product

The quickest way to relist a single product is from its completed auction listing: open the listing and click **Relist**. The Create Auction page opens with the product already selected and its previous start and reserve price pre-filled.

You can also re-list an item directly from the Create Auction page:

1. Navigate to **Create Auction**.
2. Select **Existing products**.
3. Search for and choose the product(s) you want to relist.
4. Configure the new auction settings.
5. Click **Create**.

## The Relist Bulk Action

Multiple listings can be relisted at once from the **Auctions** page:

1. Navigate to **Auctions**.
2. Select the listings you want to relist.
3. Click **Relist** in the actions bar.
4. The Create Auction page opens with the products already selected, and each listing's previous **start price** and **reserve price** pre-filled as custom prices in the Selected Products table. See [Setting Individual Prices per Listing](/auctions/creating-an-auction.md#setting-individual-prices-per-listing) for details on editing prices.
5. Configure the remaining auction settings and click **Create**.

The **Relist** action appears when at least one selected listing is eligible. A listing is eligible once it has ended and is not awaiting payment. Active, scheduled, and awaiting-payment listings are not eligible for relisting until they are canceled or completed. If you select multiple ended listings for the same product, only the most recent one is used.

Other settings for the new listings use your saved [auction defaults](/auctions/default-auction-settings.md). Review the settings before you click **Create**.

## Relisting a Collection

1. Navigate to **Create Auction**.
2. Select **Collection** and choose the collection.
3. An auction is created for each product in the collection (up to 500 products). This method requires an [Auction Event](/auctions/auction-events.md).
4. Configure shared settings and click **Create**.

You can also use [CSV Import](/auctions/csv-import-export-guide.md) to batch-import auctions into an event.

## Troubleshooting Relist Errors

You will see an error when trying to create an auction for a product that already has an active listing.

To resolve:

1. Navigate to the latest auction listing for the product.
2. **If the listing has an unpaid winner:** Click **Cancel Winner** to release the product.

## Tips

* Review the previous auction's bid history before relisting. If there were no bids, consider adjusting the start price or auction duration.
* If a winner did not pay, you can [send a second-chance offer](/auctions/managing-winners-and-second-chance-offers.md#sending-offers-from-bids) to a runner-up bidder instead of relisting.
